Invoices (or bills) where hourly rates are used to bill, show the time, hourly rate and total amount (per line) by default.
Example 1
Description | Time | Rate | Amount |
Activities Diederick Brouwers | 5:00 | 320 | 1.600 |
Activities Peter van Leeuwen | 12:30 | 280 | 3.500 |
Total | 5.100 |
When the value of the amount is changed, the rate is no longer displayed on the invoice specification (for that line). Both the amount per line and the total amount can be adjusted. When the total amount is modified, it will be distributed pro rata to the invoice lines.
Example 2
In the example below, the red rate is no longer displayed on the invoice because the total amount has been adjusted.
Description | Time | Rate | Amount |
Activities Diederick Brouwers | 5:00 | 320 | 2.000 |
Activities Peter van Leeuwen | 12:30 | 280 | 3.500 |
Total | 5.500 |
Example 3
In the example below, both rates are no longer displayed because the total amount has changed and therefore the amounts have been recalculated.
Description | Time | Rate | Amount |
Activities Diederick Brouwers | 5:00 | 320 | 2.000 |
Activities Peter van Leeuwen | 12:30 | 280 | 3.000 |
Total | 5.000 |
Note: in case of a 'fixed price' rate pricing scheme, the rates are never displayed and the invoice lines are merged into one line by default.
Please note that this article assumes a default setup of the billing/invoice templates. If specific changes have been made to the invoice templates in your Legalsense environment, the above description of how Legalsense works may differ.
