Before accepting a new engagement, you will want to conduct a conflict check. In Legalsense, you can perform a conflict check quickly and easily.
* We recommend that you fill in the contact details of your clients as completely as possible. This helps to make the conflict check work better!
You can find the conflict check under 'Clients' - 'Conflict check.' The screen contains a search field. Here you can enter (part of) a name or VAT number. Legalsense will search for matching letter combinations to the ones you have entered in the search field when you click on search.
In the example below, we searched for 'cons'.
After the search, results come up in four different places: Clients, Matters, Contacts, and Users. In the example, there are no results in Creditors.
You can see at a glance if there is a conflict of interest.
A conflict check in Legalsense delivers results in the following categories:
- Clients - Name - Alternative names
- Matters - Client - Name (description) - Related Contacts (such as Counterparts) - Other
- Contacts - Kind - Related matters
- Users
- Creditors - Name
