Overview
The Notification Center brings system-generated notifications together in one place. Notifications are personal, do not disappear automatically, and can include both expected updates (for example, a completed export) and unexpected information that requires action.
Notifications are enabled system-wide from release 25.11 and do not require configuration.
The notification behavior and interactions are consistent across the old and new user interface.
How to use notifications
The bell popover
In the top-right corner of Legalsense Online, click the bell icon to open the notifications popover.
- When there are no notifications, the popover shows View all notifications.
- When notifications are present, the popover shows up to 3 latest notification cards.
- When there are more than 3 notifications, the bottom card shows View N notifications.
- If billing workflow is enabled, the popover can also show View N open task(s).
Dismiss notifications
To dismiss a notification from the popover, click the X icon on the notification card.
Download exports from notifications
For export files prepared in the background:
- Open the Notification Center from the notifications popover.
- Find the notification row and use the link in the Attachment column to download the file.
In the screenshot above, the blue Info row ("A download notification") contains a link in the Attachment column.
Open the Notification Center
You can open the Notification Center in either of these ways:
- Click a notification message directly in the popover.
- Click View all notifications or View N notifications in the popover.
Inside Notification Center
The Notification Center shows all notifications in a table. Each row can include:
- Date and time
- Message text
- Severity level (Information, Warning, Error)
- An optional attachment (for example, an export)
- An optional hyperlink to related records (for example, invoice or matter)
You can sort and filter columns to find relevant notifications.
How Legalsense notifies you
Legalsense currently uses several forms of notifications. The Notification Center centralizes more information over time, but does not immediately replace all existing methods.

Messages on the home page
These will gradually be moved into the Notification Center. -
Messages on the current page
These provide immediate feedback on your actions and will remain. -
Email notifications
Email notifications remain in place, but certain notifications are now sent only to the Notification Center.
Tasks (billing workflow only)
If your environment uses billing workflow, the bell can also show open tasks assigned to you. Use View N open task(s) to open the Tasks overview.
