Release 26.03 and 26.04 have been combined into a single release schedule, and the release notes have been merged accordingly.
Verbal time entry
Verbal time entry lets you write time using natural language — including relative dates, multiple matters, and activities — making it significantly faster to register time while details are still fresh. You can record an audio snippet on the Time entry page, using the Voice tab in the input section. Legalsense uses AI to process the recording into one or more draft time entries, which should be reviewed before they become normal time entries.
Verbal time entry requires a configuration change and an AI provider, like OpenAI. For more information about requirements, configuration, and data safety, see Enabling verbal time entry. Verbal time entry is available upon request and will be available for all customers in an upcoming release. For more information, see:
Matters, Clients, and Contacts
Client cell phone number in the matter detail view: The client information panel on the matter detail view includes the client's cell phone number when set. For clients whose cell phone is their primary contact number, this makes it easier to reach them directly from the matter you are working on.
Invoices
Disbursement type mapping for accounting integrations: Admin users can now map disbursement types to ledger accounts directly in Legalsense, under Settings → Twinfield/Exact/Fortnox/etc. → Accounts per disbursement type. This applies to integrations with AFAS, Exact Financials, Exact Online, Fortnox, and Twinfield.
Previously, this required Legalsense to configure a custom mapping in the background. If Legalsense has already configured a mapping for your environment, a notice is shown on the page; contact Legalsense support to migrate to the new configuration.
Bulk invoice update: When bulk-updating invoices, each invoice is processed independently. If one fails, the operation continues for the remaining invoices, and any that could not be updated are reported separately — so you can follow up on just those without having to redo the entire operation.
Duplicate a time entry on an invoice: When editing time entries on an invoice, each row has a copy button (the duplicate icon on the right side of the row). This makes it easy to split a time entry: for example, when you want to bill part of the time at the normal rate and write off or zero-rate the remainder. Adjust the hours on each copy so they add up to the original, then apply the appropriate rate or write-off to each. Duplicated rows are added unsaved. Save the invoice before performing any multi-select actions on them.
Integrations
Legal name in company data search: When looking up a company via Company.info or Dun & Bradstreet, Legalsense can fill in the organization's legal name instead of its trade name. The legal name is the name under which a company is officially registered, making it more reliable for KYC processes and legal records — especially where trade names may vary or overlap.
Admin users can configure this preference on the integration's configuration page, under Settings → Integrations. For new configurations, using the legal name is the default. Existing configurations are unaffected and will keep using the trade name. See also Looking up company information.
Peppol company ID: When sending invoices via Peppol, two identifiers can be configured on a debtor contact: the Peppol endpoint ID and the optional Peppol company ID. The endpoint ID is the routing address used to deliver the invoice over the Peppol network. The company ID is the legal identifier that appears on the invoice itself, used by the recipient for accounting reconciliation.
In most cases these are the same value, and the company ID field can be left empty. In some countries they must differ: Belgian customers, for example, may need to route via one identifier while the invoice body requires a different one.
The former Peppol ID field has been renamed to Peppol endpoint ID; this is a display change only and does not affect existing behavior. See also Peppol & Invoices in UBL.
Inexchange sent invoices overview: When using the Peppol integration with Inexchange, a global overview of all Inexchange send activity is available under Invoices → Inexchange. The overview shows each send attempt with its date and time and last known status, and can be filtered by both. This makes it easier to monitor sending activity across all invoices and follow up on any that failed to send, without having to check each invoice individually. See also Inexchange.
Other
Dismiss notifications in bulk: On the notification list, multiple notifications can be selected and dismissed at once. A confirmation is required before the selected notifications are dismissed. The notification list is accessible from the notification icon in the top-right of the screen. See also Notifications in Legalsense.
